ArcelorMittal Bosnia to halt iron ore mining in Bosnia

(Europe): ArcelorMittal would stop iron ore production at Bosnian mines following the failure of transportation deal with a local railway. It also operates a steel plant in Bosnia, steel production there will not be immediately affected after the iron ore output halt.

India to finalise its decision on ArcelorMittal bid by 8th March

(Asia Pacific): India’s National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) announced to finalise its decision by 8th March 2019 on a bid submitted by ArcelorMittal as resolution plan for the bankrupted Essar Steel.

JSW Steel to take over Bhushan by the end of March

(Asia Pacific): JSW Steel, a successful bidder for the bankrupted Bhushan Power and Steel (BPSL) assets, announced to take over the operation of the company by the end of March 2019. Recently, the bid of JSW for the acquisition of BPSL has been cleared by the Committee of Creditors, which now needs to be approved by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
