BYD to supply 100 MWh batteries for Pireos Capital’s project in Mexico

(Latin America): China BYD for the first time has become a partner with Pireos Capital for the development of 100 MWh photovoltaic energy storage system project in Mexico. The energy storage system (ESS) will use BYD lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery cells. The system could provide power to 30k houses at its full capacity utilisation.

 

Solar Century commences power production at new PV mini grid

(North Africa): The UK Solar Century has installed two hybrid power systems mini girds at Areza and Maidma with capacity 1.25MW and 1MW respectively in Eritrea. The installation took almost one year to complete and included the combination of solar PV, Tesla based lithium ion batteries and backup diesel generators for Caterpillar. It will be operated by the Eritrean Electricity Company.
