Kathmandu to install underground power cables

(Asia): Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has selected India’s KP industries to install underground power cables in Kathmandu, Nepal. In the first phase, the underground cables would replace overhead power lines for Majarajgunj and Ratnapark distribution centres. It will be completed within the next three years with an estimated cost of Rs 7.5 billion.

GE T&D to develop power sub substations in India

(Asia): India’s GE T&D India Ltd to set up a high-voltage substation to increase the capacity of 765kV AIS substation and 400kV Gas-Insulated Substation (GIS) for Power Grid Corporation (PGCIL) in Gujarat. The company also build a new 400kV/220KV Gas-Insulated Substation (GIS) through the Green Energy Corridor Transmission System that will help to supply 2500MW of wind power.
