LG to launch its 5G mobile phone this month

(Asia Pacific): LG will launch its V50 ThinQ (5G compatible mobile phone) in the Korean market this month. The announced date of launching is April 19 and the initial price tag will be W1.19 million (the US $1048.72). According to the company it has set the price as low as possible to provide an opportunity for its customers to switch to a 5G smartphone.

Ericsson will deploy Batelco 5G infrastructure

(Middle East): Ericsson and Batelco have formed a partnership for the commercial deployment of its 5G infrastructure in Bahrain. Under the partnership Ericsson will provide core network, 5G New Radio (NR) and mobile transport. Balteco also made its first 5G call on a commercial mobile network which uses 5G Cloud Packet Core and Radio System solutions of Ericsson.

 

Dialog Axiata trials its 5G mobile service in Sri Lanka

(Asia Pacific): Sri Lanka’s Dialog Axiata PLC presented its fully standard-based 5G mobile service in Sri Lanka, by combining 5G mobile device and 5G network infrastructure. It used the core network and RAN (Radio Access Network) of Huawei, and also the Non-Standalone Architecture (NSA) to power up a 5G mobile phone on its 5G transmission trials. The pilot service will show the readiness of Dialog (regarding 5G deployment) and also put Sri Lanka in the race of 5G deployment with developed countries.
