SK Telecom applies Quantum Cryptography in its network security

(Asia Pacific): South Korea’s SK Telecom has used the Swiss ID Quantique’s Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) to its authentication centre (AuC) of 5G network. It also has plans to facilitate its 4G network with QRNG. In its pilot project, it applied Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) technology developed by ID Quantique to toughen the security of 5G and LTE’s reception and data transmission.


Kudelski Security and Hosho to work in partnership on blockchain

(Europe): Kudelski Security and Hosho formed a partnership under which both will focus on the development of Blockchain Security Centre (BSC) launched by Kudelski Security. The partnership will help to improve the security of their hyper ledger technology (HLT) and blockchain.


First 5G spectrums are assigned in Hong Kong

(Asia Pacific): The Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) of Hong Kong announced its first 5G spectrums assigning which opens the doors for launching 5G in the country. The spectrum was assigned to SmarTone, China Mobile (Hong Kong) and HKT. The assigned spectrum was 400 MHz each, in the 26GHz and 28GHz bands.
