Redflow installed ZBM batteries in Thailand
(Asia): Redflow, an Australian battery storage company, deployed ten zinc-bromine flow batteries of 10KWh along with three large lithium ion batteries to store surplus solar energy in Ban Pha Dan, Thailand. It will store energy for the local microgrid which has lacked access to electricity from the national grid. Commodity Inside understands that microgrids are becoming popular to provide electricity to remote areas.
EDP Renewable has signed a 104MW agreement
(North America): the EDP Renewables (EDPR) signed a 15-year power purchase agreement with Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association (Tri-State). The Crossing trails wind farm which would have an installed capacity of 104MW will be constructed in Colorado, US. The project is expected to be operational in 2020 and upon completion will be able to supply electricity to around 47,000 homes.
