Egypt gets Saudi backing for its 2.3 MW power plant 

(Middle East): A Saudi based power and water desalination developer Acwa Power and Egyptian Hassan Allam Holding company are teamed up for the construction of 2.3 MW power plant in Luxor, Egypt.

The investment in the first phase is $2.3 billion, which is planned to be operational between 2022 and 2023. The Saudi utility developer is set to invest around $3 billion in different electricity projects including Luxor plant along with Aswan Benban Solar Park in Egypt.

 

Enel acquires renewable facilities from EGPNA REP in the US

(North America): Italy’s Enel has fully acquired seven renewable projects of combined 650 MW capacities from Enel Green Power North America Renewable Energy Partners, LLC (EGPNA REP) for $256 million. These projects include geothermal, wind and solar facilities. EGPNA REP is an equally owned JV between Enel Green Power North America (EGPNA) and General Electric (GE).
