Chorus to test 10 Gbps broadband
(Asia Pacific): Chorus, a telecommunication infrastructure provider in New Zealand, announced its testing of 10Gbps broadband internet to its selected customers through Nokia’s XGS-PON fibre technology. Some retailers willing to take part in the trial include 2degrees, Vocus Communications, 2Talk, Kordia, Orcon, Slingshot, Trustpower, and Stuff Fibre.
GSMA shows concerns banning Huawei
(Europe): Actions has been taken against Huawei in the US, Australia among others, whilst the European Union (EU) are considering to ban the company’s certain activities. GSMA (Groupe Spécial Mobile Association) remains concerned about the banning of Huawei and its aftermath for the company. The body sent proposals to its members to debate the Huawei situation in the next board meeting in February 2019.
