IBM and SweetSense using blockchain to stop groundwater drought

(North America): IBM research arm and SweetSence (sensor tech provider) will use the blockchain and internet of things (IoT) to stop droughts of groundwater in California. The focus would be to regulate the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta. Furthermore, the project would also use IoT sensors for transmission of water extraction data to satellites and stored in IBM’s cloud-based platform. This will enable farmers to observe utilisation of groundwater through a web-based dashboard as well as trade water credits with other farmers through blockchain.
