The largest battery energy storage facility to be built in Oregon
(North America): Portland General Electric (PGE) and Next Era Energy Resources will construct one of the US largest battery energy storage in Oregon, US. It will be known as the Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility comprised of 300 MW wind power generation, 50 MW of solar energy and 30 MW battery storage. The wind power and battery parts of the project are expected to be operational by 2020 while the remaining project is planned for 2021.

(Asia): AES and Mitsubishi with a partnership with Tata Power installed India’s first grid-scale battery-based energy storage system with a capacity of 10MW/MWh in Delhi substation. Fluence, which is jointly owned by Siemens and AES supplied the lithium-ion battery for the project.
