Bushehr nuclear power plant halts operation aimed maintenance

(Middle East): Iran’s Bushehr Nuclear power plant has been temporarily shut down.  It will be reconnected to the national grid after periodic maintenance and fuel refilling in over the next 2-3 months. From March 2017 to March 2018, it generated 7.4 billion kWh of electricity and supplied around 5.5 billion kWh of electricity to the national grid over the previous eight months. It has been connected to the national gird since 2011.

Nebras Power to get shares in Jordan power projects

(Middle East): Qatar-based power investment company Nebras has acquired AES Corp’s shares in three Jordanian power projects together with Japan Mitsui & Co. Ltd. The three power plants have a combined installed capacity of 650 MW and are located in Al-Manakher, Jordan.  Currently, Nebras and Mitsui & Co. own 24% and 40% share respectively in these projects.
