LO3 energy to start blockchain pilot in Japan
(Asia): The US-based LO3 Energy has become a partner with Marubeni Corporation in a pilot blockchain energy project in Japan. the project will use distributed ledger technology (DLT) to link Marubeni’s power plants as well as test energy transaction.
Ranhill to build a power plant in Malaysia
(Asia): Malaysian Ranhill with Thai’s Treasure Specialty Co Ltd (TS Co) plans to develop 1,150 MW gas-fired combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant in Kedah, Malaysia. The power will then be exported to substations in Thailand.
A new renewable energy plant has started working in Kuwait
(Middle East): The first phase of Shagaya renewable power plant has now been connected to the national grid with a production capacity of 70 MW in Jahra, Kuwait. It is developed by Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) and the Ministry of Electricity and Water. The types of power generated in the plant are solar, wind, thermal and photovoltaic.
