SK Innovation and Poly Plus to develop lithium batteries

(North America): SK Innovation (SKI) signed an agreement with the US manufacturer Poly Plus Battery to develop lithium metal batteries. These batteries use lithium anode with a capacity more than 10 times that of graphite with energy density twice of lithium-ion batteries. SKI plans to finalise its research on the batteries core by 2021 before commercial production starts.

CPPA recommends electricity tariffs hike 

(Asia Pacific): Pakistan’s Central Power Transmission Agency (CPPA) has suggested the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) increase the power tariff by Rs 1.93/unit. The proposed hike is due to the recent rise in the use of furnace oil as well as transmission losses.
