Sprint files lawsuit against AT&T

(North America): AT&T has launched “5G Evolution” through phones and networks, though using 4G LTE technology. This has caused problems with its competitors which made their voices heard. However, Sprint responded with a lawsuit in the federal court arguing the damage AT&T causing the 5G image. It supported its claims through its survey’s findings, showing that 54% customers believed that “5G E” was same or better than 5G, and 43% believed that by buying an AT&T phone would give them access to 5G, which both are wrong.

 

Swiss government raises 380 million Swiss francs from the 5G auction

(Europe): Swisscom, Sunrise Communications and Salt received their spectrum which raised approximately 380 million Swiss francs in total. The auction includes blocks of frequencies in 700 MHz, 1400 MHz, 2.6 GHz and 3.5 GHz spectrum ranges. Swisscom, Salt and Sunrise paid 195.5 million francs, 94.5 million francs and 89.2 million francs for their frequencies respectively, which are issued for 15 years.
