China switched on the world’s longest and most powerful UHV power line
(Asia Pacific): China started its ultra-high voltage power line of 1,100 KVDC extended over the length of 3,293 km. The $5.9 billion project was started in 2015. The power line can transmit 12 GW power and can supply 66 billion kWh of electricity to eastern China annually.
Volkswagen comes with a new approach for charging EVs
(Europe): Volkswagen has recently unveiled a new mobile speedy charging station with a battery storage capacity of 360 kWh that can charge up to 15 EVs on one cycle with an average of 17 minutes. It has a combination of AC and DC outlets allowing four vehicles to use simultaneously.
