Huawei and CTR (Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company) become partners for deploying submarine cable in the Fiber Optic Austral (FOA) project. This will connect the three southern regions in Chile known as Las Lagos, Aysén and Magallanes. The Bay to Bay Express Cable System (BtoBE) consortium which is composed of China Mobile International (CMI), Facebook and Amazon Web Service (AWS) signed an agreement with the NEC (Nippon Electric Company) corporation to build the undersea cable that connects Singapore, Hong Kong and the US.
