Siemens Gamesa and Van Oord to build a wind farm jointly
(Europe): Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) and Dutch-based Van Oord are to build a wind farm for Windpark Fryslân in the Netherlands jointly. Both the companies signed a conditional contract to build 382.7 MW of wind power plant with 16 years’ service operation.
Van Oord will design and install cables, as well as to provide equipment for SGRE 89 wind turbines. The construction is expected to be started by the end of this year and is projected to become operational by 2021.
