Turkish crude steel output decreased in January by 19.5%

Turkish crude steel production fell by 19.5%  in January

(Europe): Turkish crude steel production declined 19.5% year-on-year in January to 2.6 million tonnes according to Turkish Steel Producer’s Association (TCUD). Steel exports volume dropped 18.2% to 1.9 million tonnes whereas exports in value terms rose by 10.1% to $1.4 billion. Imports also dropped in volume and value by 30.9% to 0.96 million tonnes and 29.7% to $807 million respectively during the same period.

 

Saudi Arabia’s Al Yamamah Steel signs $107 million supply contract for Dubai solar park

(Middle East): Al Yamamah Steel signed a $107 million agreement with Europea de Construcciones Metalicas to supply steel for the construction of a solar power plant in Dubai. The four-year contract will lead the Saudi company to set up a new Solar Power Systems factory in Q2 2019 for the fabrication and supply of steel structures for the solar park.

 

JSW Steel sings $700 million business deal with Duferco

(Asia Pacific): JSW Steel signed a $700 million Advance Payment and Supply Agreement (APSA) with global steel trading company Duferco for five years.
