The US exempts Iraq to import power from Iran for a short term

(Middle East): Iraq gets 90 days waiver from US sanctions to import power from Iran. The exemption is for both the electricity and gas sectors. Iraq has poor power infrastructure and imports around 45% of power from Iran. It is also heavily dependent on Iranian gas to fuel its power plants.

NIS partners with MET for a wind farm in Serbia

(Europe): Serbia NIS and Swiss-based MET Renewable will construct 102MW of the wind farm by a joint venture in Vojvodina, Serbia. The joint venture called NIS-MIT Energrowind consists of 34 wind turbines. The construction on the farm will begin this year and expected to operate by 2021 fully.
